Are we there yet?
Beastmasters, we haven't forgotten about you!!
Beastmasters, stay tuned for future changes!!!
Beastmasters, we totally promise adjustments are coming soon!!!

They keep talkin' like its right around to corner and yet with each update its still not there.

If DRK gets one more tweak or spell I am seriously going to throw up. If its because of the COR, PUP and BLU Group 2 update, that's fine, but if there isn't just a little something for BST in this or the next update its just getting a bit ridiculous.

Uncapped jug pets at least, show us you're trying.

Re: Are we there yet?
players have been asking for uncaped jugs for so long, they'll just never do that...
there are more BST-only bugs to fix, like when you are duoing and your partner warps away (for a reason or another) why would HIS pet attack you?
charm-leave losing claim on mobs..
areas with no charmable mobs (Revirne B, Sea etc).
Lv75 Jug (Cactuar) poping as LV70-75 when called.
Beast Affinity Lv3 and yet Funguar pops as Lv65.

ummm... 1 year have passed since they said they'll add party friendly BST adjustments.

Uncapping jugs is one of the most logical moves to make to improve BST. All other pets jobs have pets they can call that increase in power with respect to the player's level/skil;. I fail to see why BST can't have it like DRG and PUP already do when they summon their pets.

Sea was intended to not have charmable mobs, according to SE.

/em ties a carrot to a stick.

Here you go :3 (seriously though wtf @ SE for still having such blatant, unresolved issues with numerous jobs)

making a job that relies on charm, then caping it's Call Beast jugs, then making an endgame area with no single charmable mob is stupid.

I think "Sea" supposedly had to stay "special," in a certain way charmable mobs would have a negative effect on this. I myself think the current jug pets make Beastmaster's strong enough in endgame events.

ii'll use a charmed Easy Prey mob over a jug pet anyday, jug pet's accuracy suck on VTs (60-65% Accuracy parsed) where an EP charmed mob will have higher accuracy,DMG and better WSs than the affordable jugs at 75 ( HQ Crab >_> is the only affordable jug after 67 ).
Current jug pets do make BST strong enough at endgame events, only if you are willing to pay 40-60K every 15Minute in today's economy due to this jugs ingredients's incredibly low drop rate, or the low HQ rate.
1) Sun Water - Cactuar
2) Antlion
3) Diramite

To be fair, this is also some very nice gear for PLD, PLD options have been lacking new tanking gear options for a while. This is more for PLD than the other two, if a WAR gets their hands on this gear over a PLD, I weep.

But I see what you're getting at. We share lots of gear with these classes elsewhere. BST is very much built for heavy armor, yet we seem to get placed just behind these guys for the heaviest. Its never made much sense to me.

Whatever other new abjuration gear opens up from the future areas better be as impressive for the jobs that haven't been given new abjurations.

That aside, there were some new BST earrings which were... Salvage only latent. Because... yeah, we solo there a lot >.>

Re: Are we there yet?
on a second thought, the new gear is nothing but another Adaman set with some - and +, the body isn't as great as Adaman but ... having another option is always good ; ; (Specially that Regen effect...would rock at solo...).

Omgwtfbbqkitten , you've Lvled DRG too ^^, DRGs have been asking for a useful abjuration gear that doesn't have loads of slow on it for years...when SE released the pics they showed a DRG in that set.. with the new lance.. kinda disappointing that DRGs didn't get any of it and no abjuration gear other than the lolHecatomb... and the new lance kinda isn't better than Mezraq..THF have the same problem too!
i don't mind if WAR/DRK/PLD got new gear, but why did they release the pics with DRG wearing them ; ;
on a side note, i've parsed some EXP PT data where i was the top DD ('till now....pre merits only a pimp MNK/WAR managed to do the same Total DMG i did with my CC ^^) so BST doesn't lack gear options... we just need to have the option to allow out pets to auto attack when we do because using /pet "Fight" <t> every 1 minute is really tiresome and because of Amnesia ^^" (like DRG's wyvern) and a better pet selection.
what really amazed me is CC's 17%Critical hit rate on the mire's imps/flies/jnuns at a 70% accuracy (me being at 9% with caped Critical merits) <.>

edit: my Leopard axe's poison effect isn't kicking like before... they probably broke it like what they did to relic scythe and the other weapons..

edit2: if you mean Epsilon Earring, the CHR on it is cool...wounder why they keep adding Killer effect stuff without unerfing the killer effects :/

Thats why i haven't played in 2 months. I am kinda getting tired of waiting for bst fixes, or tweaks and seeing nothing. They have given favorite endgame jobs more boost for it with SMN's and SAM's. Meanwhile other jobs who need to be fixed keep getting nothing or have half assed updates.

Well this goes back to my gripes elswhere about SE's lopsided endgame design. There is better gear out there for THF and DRG, even BST, but it in a totally different area - Limbus. The nice thing about Dynamis and Limbus is everyone who as access has an reason to be interested in it.

Not so with Sky, Sea, HNMs and Salvage/Nyzul. Those areas have much more selective jobs interested in them.

DRG gets access to Crimson Set, btw, I just can't see a benefit from it beyond the MP for /maging.

yah then again, BST's AF+1 (Limbus) have no melee stats except maybe for the pants's STR+6, other pieces are loaded with solo stats (MND for reward, INT for tame etc..).
Homam is great... if getting it was as easy as getting a sky drop.
Currently WAR have 3 abjuration sets (And gods's gear) and DRK have 4 abjurations, dunno why giving THFs and DRGs a toy to play with is game breaking :/

Re: Are we there yet?
From the Alla E3 2007 interview:

Quote:
Pikko: Beastmasters have long awaited something new added to their job such as new abilities or jug pets. Can they expect any type of enhancement to their job in the near future?

Ogawa-san: Just changing the beastmaster would probably make a lot of other players upset as well, so what’s going to happen is when we add the new jobs we’re going to have to adjust a lot of the other jobs to keep things balanced and so probably at the time of the release of the expansion there will be another overhaul of the current jobs.
From POL, March 2006 Pre-ToA:

Quote:
When we changed how monsters would despawn when out of their natural spawn radius, it caused a lot of problems for the beastmaster job class. We know that many players are dissatisfied with this system, and we're working to relieve the problem. The beastmaster is a tougher job than some of the others to balance, so we may be unable to make radical adjustments, but rest assured that we have not forgotten you!
Remove EXP penalties for charming.
Make all jug pets uncapped.
No Timer on Jug Pet duration.
New Synthesis Recipies for existing high level HQ Jugs.
A reasonable drop rate for the jug materials.
Melee Job Traits.

Aside from the job trait desires, what could possibly need to be considered to adjust BST against another job class? Most of this stuff doens't even pertain to the other jobs.

DRG, PUP and SMN can keep thier pets out indefinately, we can't. They can control what their pets do to a degree that we can't. Two of the three struggle for invites along with BST. One is loved at endgame and the other two are unwanted along with BST.

If you're going to balance BST at all, balance it against DRG and PUP and improve all three together. There should be no waiting for adjustments on BST otherwise, not for this long. And not for WotG, not unless SE has yet another pet class in mind, which would be a terrible idea seeing how much of an afterthought BST is.

It really burns me that this job is not only made to wait behind all the others, its made to wait behind jobs that haven't even been added yet.
