I think Zeta is the highest and Alpha is the lowest but the others are mixed up in their order. It is indeed the greek alphabet, hence the strange order:
Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Pi etc.
The biscuits only cover as far aas Zeta, and restore a fixed ammount of HP to the mob, plus a modifier based on the Mnd level of the BST. Using zeta on a pet with fight gear equipped, it restores 366hp. Using my 'cure' gear and with light staff equipped, it restores 440hp.
The biscuits also give a regen effect to the pet, although I haven't seen the exact figures, but I do know that with Zeta at least the effect lasts 3 minutes, at which point (if the pet is still alive) you get a message that "(pet)'s regen effect wears off" - this ties in beautifully with the recast timer - as soon as you get that message, reward is ready again! Oh, and an interesting side note to this, you will still get the message whether the pet is still charmed or not!
Main use for pet food is to extend the life of your pet slightly, especially useful pre-leave to get the mob down that little bit further and save you down-time by reducing your damage during the final melee. I also find it useful for 2-houred pets: In SSG I would charm an EM slime and 2hour it, then keep feeding it while clearing the whole room of skellies (EM to T). You'd be amazed how many skellies a slime can kill in 30 minutes! CatrinM WHM75/ BST75/BRD45/BLM37/PLD37/WAR37

Light staff adds to your MND stats, and therefore increases the potency of reward. The numbers I'm quoting are with my own gear at level 55 - YMMV
My 'cure' gear is aimed at increasing MND as much as possible with the intention of eking out as much hp as I can out of the mp available, but without sacrificing tp if I can avoid it. In the scenario above I was fighting bombs in GC, so I don't even equip an axe - there is no way I'm going to try to melee those little tinkers! CatrinM WHM75/ BST75/BRD45/BLM37/PLD37/WAR37

Does a non-charmed mob with this regen effect recover hp normally also? It seems that if they have poison or something, after hitting leave, they wont start recovering until poison or w/e wears. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-24-2007, 11:12 PM | #8 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Arizona Posts: 82 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 2 Thanked 8x in 6 Posts Gil: 1,332 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,332 Donate | Re: Pet food stats??? If you charm a mob, fight it on another, then leave it after reward, you still get the message, so I'm guessing that yes, it's probably still getting the regen. As to how to go about testing this though, I have no idea since we can never see the mob's actual HP figures, just a bar indicating a rough percentage.
I suppose you could charm a DC, sic it on others to get it down to about 50%, then leave it and time it to full HP, then repeat and this time reward it back to 50% and leave, timing it again, but its not very precise I'm afraid. The biggest problem is that the mobs get HP back at a much higher rate than we do (jealous!!). I've been at 20%hp before now at the end of a fight, /leave the pet at 20%, and put the target arrow on it while I rest. By the time I'm at 50%, the pet is at 100% having recovered some 2-3khp in the time I recover 300! Trying to spot the effect of regen at that regen rate is going to be tough at best!
The regen effect, although there, is only very slight at best. On DC bats in GC, I've seen them gain about 4-5% over the 3 minutes (still charmed), but I don't have any parses of them so I don't know what their total HP is. CatrinM WHM75/ BST75/BRD45/BLM37/PLD37/WAR37

I meant the other way around, which by the way you are talking, im guessing it does still regen the big chunks every few seconds while the regen effect is on.
Just to clarify: By big chunks of hp, I mean Kneel heeling. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
