I'm thinking of moving my THF up to 37 for ungimped farming and the occasional situation where it would be nice to SATA onto a tank in LS parties. I know some people have had success subbing BST to THF and so I'm looking for some advice.
Did you have to use a bunch of au laits and/or potions to keep the downtime to a minimum? What is the general strategy? Is this combo viable before I can use status bolts?
Thanks in advance. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-11-2006, 08:30 AM | #2 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Vancouver, BC Posts: 732 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 3,618 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 3,618 Donate | Re: THF/BST - Looking for solo strategy From what I've heard (my thf is still 19), a lot of people have solo'd thf to 33 abouts using worms. Basically subbed rng for the added acc bonus and just used gobs of bloody bolts, au laits and potions until 24 and then subbed nin from then on.
Thinking about the logistics of that compared to taking thf through the same exp pre-leave bst makes me think that while thf/bst would be workable and probably fun, I'd take the worm route. (hopefully one day I'll get unlazy and actually do that)

But at level 75, WHM/BST has 20+ more CHR than BST/WHM with equipments, yet WHM/BST mischarms noticeably more often.
THF has less CHR than WHM, so it must mischarm more often than WHM/BST.
If I were you, I would try it | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-11-2006, 11:34 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Boom de yada! Boom de yada! If it were me, I would go with a good pair of knuckles, Acid Bolts and Blind Bolts, Selbina Milk and whatever food you feel comfortable with, and then try to let your pets do most of the work. Work up some TP, and SA+Combo to finish 'em off. You'll end up with the pet XP cut if you're charming instead of using jugs, but given that you can take on tougher mobs than you would with a different sub, it'll probably still be decent XP. Add in Bloody Bolts when you can. Ellipses on Fenrir There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

33-37 in kazham on em-t mandies.
pretty much any job that can use bloodybolts should be able to solo to 37. you can chain up to 3 on mandies! faster than most parties there... Omni@Remora: NIN75 RNG75 MNK75 COR75 BST63 BRD45
