Any Help Appreciated--52+ Solo/Duo spot
I've been stuck on this lvl for over 3 days, I dont know what it is but I've been to every area on the guide except K-11 on Quicksand Caves mainly because I dont have a map. Me and a friend tried Duoing Hellmines in Garlaige Citadel, we got 2 down and everything bad just happened on the 3rd, Tough bat uncharmed (Ive yet to see any Even Bats at this lvl) and stayed all the way in the far corner of the hellmine room, his bat uncharmed shortly after, Now we got no bats a Hellmine closing in and a goofy party behind us. Soon is came close enough, TP charge, *BOOM* 987 dmg. I'm face down he manages to survive somehow, lifes in red. PoisonII slammed on him and one scratch from a Wraith to put him away. This place is just too dangerous for me. Crawlers Nest- Got a Even Match Beetle, He got a EM Fungaur. Went and grabbed a Helm beetle. Long story short, his fungaur uncharmed mid fight, simply because this battle was taking FOREVER. He got knocked in the red before trying to recharm and failing now have a pet beetle near death, A exoray coming after me for some reason and Helm Beetle looking my direction. Time for Quick Thinking. Released my beetle grabbed the Exoray let it fight and die, recharmed my beetle, let it fight to the death, my lifes in red, no mp, no time to rest. Beetle dies, whips out Carrie, Carrie misses 7 out of every 10 attacks. Decided to call for help cause I'm almost dead. Sigh* Dont even mention That sewer place in Sandy, Jellys are all EM to Tough and are extremely difficult to charm and keep a charm on. I've preety much died most of this week and all this weekend. Any help :dead: will be nice

Ouch. Thats all I can say.

Most BST refer to a terrible "hump" or "roadblock" in the 50's. I thought it was 53, but maybe its 52. Just a bad spot where there are only Ep and Tough, with not enough even and decent. Perhaps a higher level BST could confirm, but I think you have your work cut out for you.

Meanwhile, since I have reached my goals that I set out for on the weekend, I'm ready to go back to BST and get my lvl 35. Looking forward to 50+ /sarcasm

Lvl.52, I hammered gob pets in Gustav Tunnels. Exp probably wasn't good, but better than none.

Lvl.53, I went to Bostaunieux Oubliette (death basement under sans). Before you go down, you buff up with blink, cast sneak, slap on all your +CHR gear (and light staff, if you have it), and go down. Charm a slime, and take it to the W.ron zone. Fight the bats, and you're good to go. A decent slime can handle a VT bat easily. Very good for skill ups as well ^^

Both are soloing, and good luck.

Can't remember exactly..but I think I did Feiyin magic pots and bats on the bottom floor. Basically charm those 3-bats and send them against the bigger bat or a pot.

Watch out for magic aggro and I usually keep protect/shell and sneak on at all times.

I did pretty good just soloing in Crawlers Nest at 52, I charmed hornflies and fought blazer beetles, some exorays, and a mushussu every once in a while.

Where did you camp in Crawlers, right out in the middle?
Crawlers seem to be the best spot right now, I found a spot last night all the way in the back by the higher tier lizzys. Theres also 2 higher tier saplings in that room as well. They all conned DC++ to me, so 1 lvl earlier would've been perfect, but its still good at this lvl just camp by the ledge looking down to the rumble crawlers room. This place is usually empty, so keep it a secret from pts.

Hey I went back to BST last night as promised, and I have good news and bad news.

Bad news is a couple of missed charms led to a couple of deaths. I was 2000/5900 when I started and I stopped last night 4500/5900, so my exp was pretty steady if not for the deaths. (lost 1180 exp)

Good news, and really the only thing that made me smile at all, was the 2 spider web drops I got for the first time as BST. They came almost back to back, so that was cool, and they sell for 6k each in Jeuno.

Ding! 32. Got a bit of a buffer before logging off to watch Harry Potter last night ^^

After the movie, logged back in for a bit more exp. What happens? Failed a charm with only 170 HP and an angry pugil coming at me. Pugil +crab+170hp=death. I didnt de-level, but I'm at 75/6000 lol. I'm starting to get very scared about failing charms. Usually I'll just fail the once, but I have to be more careful. I've come to the conclusion that my strategy is constantly putting me in danger. Disengaging a mob and going to find another pet with 150hp is bad news... charm fails, and I'm screwed. I either have to stand back and let the mobs duke it out, or step in and fight to make sure I dont have to recharm. When I get to 35, this worry is over ^^

I'm off tomorrow for the American Thanksgiving holiday so I will be powerleveling BST. By the end of the weekend, I want 35. Anything less will be a major disappointment. BTW, Beastlord, you said you left Korroloka when you hit 33 right? Did you stay in East Altep for 33-34? Spiders and Beetles? Thanks.

Yeh Spiders on Spiders near the zone (your lvl. 32-33), then Spiders on Beetles (33-35), Then Spiders and Beetles on Anticans (34-37) It gets a little dangerous here when you're gonna have to do Beetles on Dhamels (37-40) but I think I didnt waste my time here and went to Yutunga and handled the ever easy self-destructive gob, until I hit a hump or got bored and came back to the desert. Watch out for elementals when weather strikes in the desert. They have a lonnnnng aggro range to magic. Also someone told me to stay away from Tornados, its instant death. Dont know if its true but I stay away from em. Best of luck to ya Gman! Hope you make 35 as well, and Have a great Thanksgiving!

That's not true. You cannot die from going near/inside a tornado in game.

I have weather effects off. So ingame tornados are never seen by me.

And there is a BLM spell called Tornado. Probably castable by the Anticans, and such.

So..... what a crazy 24 hours. As you can see, level 35 obtained, and much sooner than I was hoping for.

It all started Wednesday night when I went to korroloka for my usual exp grind, praying I could acheive at least one level. I'm pretty sure I was about 200 exp into level when I started. I make my way to the pugil/clipper room, but I notice its camped already by another level 32 BST, and hes using the kill off pet and finish off mob method, which clears a room of pets pretty quick. I go to the spider room, kill a few, notice Sea Monk is there, so kill him (nice 150 exp) when I decide if I cant have the clipper room, this is pretty much pointless. I head back over to that room with the intention of driving the other bst out by taking mobs from there as they spawn. After 1 kill, I decided to ask him to party rather than screw us both over by taking the spawns.

I sent in tell "{Team up} {East Altepa Desert} {Beastmaster} x2? To which I get a response of "sure". Ok, cool.. this was my first time duoing with another BST, so I didn't really know what to do, but we made our way to the desert. 2 Taru beasts banding together to defeat the forces of evil

We started out by each charming an EM or decent spider, and sicked them on tough spiders. With us fighting along side our pets, we were able to get chain 2-3 pretty easy but finding new pets was annoying and the exp was kinda slow (but faster than solo in Korroloka) We decided to go after a sand beetle. This would prove to be the turnaround of my BST career, as we were able to acheive experience unheard of to me at this point. 150-200 exp on initial kills, up to 250 exp on chains. I died a couple of times from hate mismanagement, but in the end we both got to level 33 and my new friend Spiritstalker was only a kill away from 34. He had to log, and I was feeling tired, so we called it a night.

Thursday morning I did some research into what jug pets would be best to use in the desert, and I found that Lizards intimidate vermin, which is what we were fighting, so I rounded up materials to make Carrion broth (gelatin, 2xhare meat, rotten meat + water crystal yields 4 broth) I also reloaded on supplies to make Zeta biscuits. I get a tell from Spiritstalker at about 10:15am my time saying hes on his way to the desert, so I agreed to meet him there after gathering my ingredients.

We partied up until around 3pm-ish without much problem, I hit 34, Spirit hit 35, and when he had to log for thanksgiving dinner, I was about 1900 tnl (35) I was going to log off and wait for him, but I decided to test my abilities and do it myself. Sand Beetles were anywhere from Tough-Incredibly tough for a level 34, but the cool thing about the desert is there are lots of spiders around so you always have something to charm. I was able to kill VT beetles without much problem, but I prefered Toughs because they both seemed to give me 200 exp, so why fight the harder one? To wrap it up, I managed to get my 1.9k exp in a span of about 2 hours, maybe less, and ding to 35. The pet spider I had when I leveled was released immediately and a huge smile came across my face.

Sorry for the long-winded post on this, its just a pretty proud moment, as I didnt think I would ever make it here. (at least I didnt create a whole topic for it )
