Heh, I have around 170 MP because I equip 2 astral rings^^ (+25 MP each). If I really wanted to boost my MP, I can wear full RSE as well to push the MP amount to 250+)

I don't need that much MP though, lol.

Anyway, as for race for a bard, there are pros and cons for every race (although I don't think I like galka bards, low CHR and low MP).

I don't think you are really gonna be attacking as a bard, you would be busy supporting and inflicting.

Despite the fact that Elvaans have the highest charisma, both Humes are Tarutarus have an equal charisma to that of Elvaans. So, don't make your decision based on the fact that Elvaans have the highest charisma (3 way tie).

I think the biggest determinant is the use of the sub-job magic(assuming white/red-mage sub job). If elvaans or another race have enough mp to survive a battle, then it would be a good idea idea to go to another race. Elvaans will have more HP/def, then Taru Taru's, making them more survivable. In a perfect world, bards wouldn't take any damage, but it's not always a perfect world we're playing in.

umm actually taru has highest chr. but elv do have higher hp so in bc situations might be good. but taru song effectiveness is a bit higher. elv having best mnd helps too

HUH??? i thought elvanns have the highest chr homeslice and low agi?? tarus have high insanely high mp you must got confused or something(no flame intended) but im picking elvann along the same lines that falloutboy said the high def and hp and as a bard your priority is to support and heal but there will be a time when you will use a lullaby AND fight once in a blue moon so just in case i see a blue moon ill be ready.....

Callous it's funny how we both want to be the same Bard/White Mage combonation and we both want to be an elvaan and the same face too... hopefully your not going for the smallest size an elvaan can be cause if you are we would look like twins

So besides charisma what stats are important to a bard? Do str, agi, vit, or dext affect bards in any way? I will assume that in a group a bard will not be swinging a weapon, but what about blocking, parrying, evading, ect.

I personally went with the Tarutaru, mostly because I gonna sub a WHM. The extra MP from the Taru will help me a lot when I need to help out with a heal. There charisma is also pretty good compared to the rest.

I just stuck with Hume.
Nobody judges you on your race that way
And Humes have just the same amount of CHR as Taru's and Elvaan's.

Where can I find these Astral Rings? Must be expensive
