Hi there, congrats in advance for nearing 30. I unlocked Bard at 30 but that was with beastmaster, If I remember I didnt have much trouble getting there, if not ask a friend or ls member to escort you, personally i think you'd be fine because if i can do it anyone can "I spend too much time chatting" look at ffxiclopedia for info on quests and such. good luck

The quest to unlock BRD is stupidly easy. You'll have no trouble whatsoever getting it done. Just follow the instructions carefully, and you'll be good to go. It's not an ideal soloing job. BRD has low damage output, and wears mediocre armor. You can slowly, slowly chip away at things later on when you have Lullaby, but even then, you're going to get so much better exp in a party.

Bard may be terrible at soloing, but then, once they're at party levels they don't need to solo. Bards are very popular for parties, more so the higher up you get. Just keep in mind that the two-song limit is per individual -- your job is to run around and hit people with the right songs for their category of job through careful positioning. You may need to do a little work to make sure the other party members are standing in the right places for this. -- Pteryx

The quest.... First you must complete the "Old monument quest" Bring a Parchment along to complete A Minstrel in Despair while you are in Buburimu Peninsula.
You don't need another sheet of parchment for this as when you click on the runes you get a cut scne with Mertaire.

>_>; Did you get the Kazham Airship Pass, yet? Suggest you worry about that before unlocking Bard. (Which actually involves three quests, but needing only one Parchment, I believe.)

Hint--Click on this link here: >>> Kazham Airship Pass <<< Then, follow the links to the keys on that page, and you'll know where to get the keys.
