Im almost lvl30 and was thinkin bout being a BRD/SMN, is that a good choice. Or is BRD/WHM better? Anyway, thats all I wanted to know.

Depends... Ud get more low level buffs from subbing SMN, but maybe not the MP u desire.

With WHM, ud have backup cure and debuff, which you would be expected to use, and also not the MP u might desire.

Kind of a dual edge sword, that depends on the mission at hand. For XP Party's, ud want WHM Sub, but for HNM's and teh like youd prolly wanna go with SMN, if you have good MP gear.

subbing smn is only good for HNMs and stuff where you require blinkga and stuff to keep your LS from getting hit alot

yeah, whm is the best choice, cause you can cure/regen/bar- spells and you can stoneskin/blink yourself, also at higher lvls, you will need to have erase <_< so stick with whm all the way

Brd/smn is bad. Your summons are half level, so the attacks are worthless. The buffs for summoner subbed are not good with the exception of blinkga, but that takes a ton of mp that could be used better with a different sub (like whm). Using /smn also eats up lots of time which isn't something brd has in excess.

For party use, the only solid option is whm. (Yes, you can use rdm but whm beats it in everyway) Your curagas and status fixes are very important to the party.

brd using blinkga is totally new to me. I have no idea how that will do against HNM.
for exp pt, i'll never invite brd/smn.

/whm is better. the only real benefit to /smn would be carbypull, imo, but /whm is better

Hmm, ok then. From what I been hereing it sounds like I should go with BRD/WHM. I was just worried that because its not exactly the best combination for 1 on 1 combat that the first few lvls I would really suck. Gonna take some getting used to though because atm Im a WAR/MNK. Its kinda funny cause the FF11 book, the brady games one, said that BRD/SMN was a good one to have, but then again it did say BRD/WHM was good too. Plus I could use the extra money from tele-ing people when I get to 32 or 36 with the WHM.

That may be true. But the sad thing is, you could probably use /smn on your bard and pretty much get away with it.

Smn adds nothing for Bard at lower lvls. It is acceptable for HNM's later or for farming solo post 50 maybe if you dont have /nin. but other that that its WHM FTW . sorry to dissappoint you =P

There's nothing wrong with /whm during your solo levels. Running around with Minne/Minuet makes your more than strong enough to run around smashing DCs and Cure+Paeon all but eliminates your downtime.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with brd/war for those levels either. If you're soloing, sub whatever you want. Nobody's gonna care. Though really, brd/smn is "not exactly the best combination for 1 on 1 combat" either.

For the record, leveling whm to 36 to tele people is a really bad way to make money.
