Today I had a PT with the following jobs:

NIN
MNK
DRK
RDM
BLM
BRD

I asked the NIN what he wanted me to sing, and he replied March and Madrigal. My question is, what should I be singing on the other two melee (DRK and MNK)? Should I sing March for the NIN, Madrigal for the whole PT, and then Minuet for the DRK and the MNK?

I'm having trouble understanding how I should set the songs up with a NIN tank. I understand how to set the songs up with a PLD tank though. Today was my first PT with a NIN as tank (as a BRD).

I think ideally minuet like you explained is a good way to go. But march itself isn't a bad song for melee either. So I think you can make it easier for yourself by just sing march and madrigal for everone and should still be ok in this case.

March and Madrigal are ok with NIN tanks, just make sure melees are using +ATK foods instead of sushi, otherwise you're overstacking on +accuracy at the cost of attacking strength.

The best NIN tanks I've seen tend to prefer 2x Minuet, but everyone's gear and preference is different. Losing Minuets hurts though, especially when fighting IT++ enemies.

You should always be flexible with your song selection, but a good rule of thumb is:

No more than 4 8-second songs for the entire party, total. That usually encompasses 2x melee and 2x mage songs ( most typical is Minuet, Madrigal, Ballad I, Ballad II).

Depending on your party kill speed, adding any of the following is acceptable as long as you have time to do it comfortably.

Prelude for Rangers
+STR Etude for some melees (especially monks if you miss them with Minuet)
+DEX Etude for THF (this is particularly useful if the THF isn't good about positioning for songs due to SATA concerns)

For cases where you are with a ninja who requests March, I highly highly recommend getting a Gemshorn +1 and swapping it in. It makes a noticeable difference in the speed boost from March.

I thought Gemshorn (+1) is for Sheep Mambo and Dragonfoe Mambo (evasion) and Faerie Piccolo is for Advancing March and Victory March (Attack Speed)
