Hello, i'll start with a brief introduction of myself. I've been playing FF XI since the Ps2 release up until about a year and a half ago, i had a character on the Ragnarok server, better know as Lagnarok, or Dramarok, that had 3 jobs level 75, Ranger, Ninja, and Thief. Well i had to quit due to money issues, not really a problem, i don't mind starting over. I was kind of getting sick of end game anyways, so starting over is probably best for now.

Anyways, long story short. I'll be playing on the 360, hopefully tonight as i ordered the game last night and it's suppose to arrive today, so i'll install and be up and running i hope. I've done my research and it looks like Bahamut is going to be my new home. So i'm wondering from all you kind Bahamutonians or something like that. If maybe someone has a social linkshell or something i could up on, i won't be a burden, i'm an FF vet, it would just be nice to have people to talk to here and there along the month to month horrible grinds of xp just to get to where i'm going. I'd rather not have to talk to the bees and worms outside Bastok. So anyways, i was just wondering. If not it's no problem. Thanks.

You know, if you didn't delete your character you might well be able to recover it...

and if you really hated ragnarok you can pay to transfer the old character to a new server.

I did delete my character. As i was at a cross roads and figured i'd never come back again. Anyways, it doesn't really matter. Ranger is the only job i care about, i'll be back to where i want to be in no time. Just doing all the annoying missions again is going to be rough, and of course making money.

But i heard that's it's a bit easier to level up now? EP's and DC's give more xp. And the level sync option makes it so it doesn't really matter what people's levels are in the party.

Actually i'm pretty sure you can use the return campaign to restore a character that you deleted. I did it with my taru Nuikoa just a couple months ago.

Don't forget Fields of Valor. Basically you go to a book and pick the mobs you wanna kill and then as you kill each mob the game will mark it off of the list. You can only do this to mobs that you can gain XP from as far as I know. After each kill you'll get the normal amount of XP. After you finish a full list of mobs, you'll get a lump sum of XP for completing a page. Each page is worth a different amount of XP.

For example suppose I did a page in the dunes that said to kill 8 Snippers for 400XP. Each crab would give XP appropriate to my level and after I had killed them all I'd get a lump sum of 400XP and also some Tabs.

Tabs are points you can use to buy things to make XPing in that zone more comfortable.

For Example Reraise, Refresh 1HP/Tick, Regen 1HP/Tick. These power-ups will either time out, or they'll disappear if you leave the zone or die.

Every once in a while there are treasure caskets that will drop, some are locked and some are not, but they all contain items you can use and some of the locked ones contain equipment.

You can only do one FoV mission per hour Vana'diel Day. So you could partake in a FoV at 23:59 on Firesday and if you finish on Earthsday then you can take another mission that same day.

Regen and Refresh each last 1 hour, and reraise is an hour and a half.
Protect / Shell and all the food buffs last 30 mins.

I always brab the refresh bonus closest to wear i am trying to learn blu spells, so this is tested for sure ^.^

Last night i took it into attowah to learn from the big ass ants there. it was quite helpful ^.^

I'll bet you were in a Level Sync party at the time, right? LvS goes down and back up when you zone, and when it goes back up, bye-bye buffs.

Hey, what's the big reward for completing ToAU? You know how you get Sky and Sea for Zilart and CoP completion. Just wondering, i never finished ToAU and now WoTG is out too. Game is nuts.

Nope, I haven't partied since FoV came out lol. I had been taking a break from the game, and when I came back to test FoV I solo'd BST for a few levels and also BLU. So, I'll go with it wore off and I wasn't paying attention.

Oh man, I finally got on after 3 hours of installs and updates. I feel like i have my life back again. It's been too long since i experienced FF XI. This is the greatest game i've ever played, bar none.
