There's no specific EU/JP/NA servers out there. Just join one.

i know. but there is usually a server where they are more populated

In the past two servers I've been to (Alexander and Hades), I didn't notice a difference in the amount of any certain type of player. I just needed to be awake at the right time to catch more of a specific demographic. I'm a North American player in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

In many games, sure, there's different concentrated populations in different servers. However, the way the FFXI distributes new players who don't specify servers, this tends not to happen.

That may or may not have changed since the server transfer, but I'd say, generically speaking, that there's still relatively equal populations on every server.
