How can I get my registration code to actually work?

I bought the Vana'diel 2008 collection two days ago, new un-opened, and when I tried to register it said it was an invalid code. I talked to support from POL and they said it was because they were 'updating' the server and to try again tomorrow(which is today).

I tried again this morning and at first it kept saying Server is down, but after a while it let me through to put my registration code in and it now goes back to 'USC-4001 registration code invalid'.

Support said this code is completely valid and un-used so it must be a server problem, software problem, or connection between my software and the server. I've been sitting in the chatroom for support for about an hour waiting for someone to connect to me, and they aren't helping.

What can I do? I'm using Vista and installed the vista version of POL Viewer before installing everything else and its just not working.

if SE is saying its valid, and POL is telling you its not.... take it back to where you got it, and tell them what its doing, and get yourself another copy

Re: How can I get my registration code to actually work?

Well I got it to work finally, I don't know how but I'll list everything I tried and one, two, a combo, or all can help someone else.

I turned Account User Control Off
Turned off Windows Firewall and my other firewalls
Uninstalled EVERYTHING, restart computer and installed everything back in this order
1)Vista version of PlayOnline Viewer
2)FFXI
3)All expansions
4)All updates
5)Restart computer

After all this stuff, it seemed to work perfectly and I'm In-Game in Bastok so I must have done something right.
