Can we get a "Seek Party" flag for different jobs?

The ability to "flag up" on a specific job and not lose the flag if temporarily changing jobs (to teleport, warp, or to check gear etc.) would make seeking a party a little easier. It would also make it easier to do something in the meantime if the "flagged job" isn't strong enough yet to venture outside solo and one wants to fish or skill or...

Ideally, when a leader searches for members and one of these "desired flags" appears they'd be noted in some way so the leader understands a job and gear change are coming.

As a WHM with 13 other jobs I often find myself wanting tp party but needing to relocate magically. I don't like leaving my PLD/WAR flag up during the tele because I'll often get leaders looking for a WHM, even if I'm only WHM for two minutes.

Thank you!

If I want that I just say what job I'll be using in my Search Comment box. This means that anyone looking for a party member actually has to check my comment box, but it's better than nothing. Other than that I have no idea.

While we're talking about Flags. I hate when I put my flag up with my /seacom and then logout to my mule right quick and log back on and my Flag is still up but my /seacom is gone. Then I have to retype that whole thing lol. It'd be nice if you could save Seacoms in a folder like macros and then just load and edit them when you need to. That would save me a minute or two in typing everything back out the way it was.

@Durahansolo I actually never paid attention that it erases them because i used them so little in the past I always went back in a deleted them.Thank you

Overall the flag thing might not be that much of a concern for how I look at party going now since level difference is little excuse now, but it would be a decent idea, but would that mean if they searched you would oyu come up as the job you are or the flagged job, because that would require them to add new functions to the sea command.

Which isn't a good solution, it's simply the best we can do with the tools that are available.

If I want to merit, I can go on 3 jobs. If I happen to be on WAR with my flag up, but am willing to change to WHM or RDM for a PT, there is no guarantee that a PT looking for a healer will even find me. PT leaders tend to /sea for the jobs that fit the role that they need. Why would they look at a WAR's seacom if they're looking for a healer? I always put in my seacom that I'm willing to {job change}, but guess how many times I've been invited to PT for a job that I wasn't already geared up as? I don't think the answer will surprise you...

Or, consider the situation where I want to get a merit PT or a PT for my MNK, which is only 50. I don't have any way to indicate that. If I seek on one of my 75 merit jobs, then there is almost zero chance that a PT 50 or lower will see that I'm available as MNK. If I hop on MNK to do campaign battles/ops, but comment that I'm also interested in a merit PT, I think it is safe to say that there is ZERO chance that I'll get a merit invite. After all, who would look for a merit PT member that is flagged as a level 50 MNK?

This is one feature that I'd love to see added to the game. However, this is one feature that I don't think we'll ever see.

Or maybe if you could save your /seacom IN a macro?
Quote:
/seacom 1 {Party} {No Thanks.}
/seacom 2 {I have plans.}
/seacom 3
/seacomup others 3
Then remember to pop this macro every time you log in. Just leave the unused lines in the macro blank (like #3 above) for when you want to change your "default" message.

You know I never thought of that because I never bothered to look into how the /seacom syntax works. I usually set it through the search menu. I'll give that a try next time I logon. :thumbsup: (No smileys in this forum) lol.

I don't know... maybe it's just me, but my /seacom macros haven't been working lately. My macros used to set my /seacom message, and flag me as LFP, but lately all it seems to do is just set the flag.

I've been over them a thousand times, too, and nothing seems to be wrong with them... I've just gotten used to setting them manually for the time being.

The /seacomup must be the last line . The /seacom command only sets up the parameters for /seacomup.

Re: Can we get a "Seek Party" flag for different jobs?

Yes, I do know that.

/sc 1 "{I don't speak any Japanese}"
/sc 2 "{Level Sync} 60-70 OK"
/sc 3 ""
/scu expparty 1

I even get the "registration successful" message that I used to in the past when I used the macros... but nothing goes into the search comment box, nothing shows up on a search, etc.

Maybe try typing out /seacom in the first three lines? I'm not sure if that's the problem, but it may be.
