I'm just sitting here watching king arthro getting killed by RMT again for the billionth (by 2 ninjas wearing the belt). When the belt wasn't rare/ex we could at least buy it off the RMT but now they just take the cloth and toss the belt.

Will SE ever remove the money drops from NMs such as these or will I sit here for another six months watching rmt kill it?

If you REALLY want to get rid of RMT, we can get rid of currency, we know that works, but to make sure we don't get D2 on our hands we also have to destroy trading. Everything would be earned by CP, IP, BCNMs, or drops. No more RMT! And all you had to do was destroy the entire economy and make FFXI nearly unplayable.

Well there is a way for you to get it, but it does involve you helping them. If you ever run into one competent enough to speak any English then you could always tell them you'll pay them if they invite you and give you they belt. Seeing as they're RMT they'll most likely agree to something that will get them any gil but they'll most likely charge a lot. Then they'll start to think they can get some extra gil from giving the belt to people resulting in them camping it even more.

I think your best bet would be to just continue camping it. They're not the best. They are beatable. You just have to work at it.

I have tried asking them to sell it to me, I never get any reply. And the KS99 has a horrible drop rate, didn't some LS run it 14 times with no drop?

How would removing the money drop from Arthro make the game worse for legit players? Ohh and you were talking about Aquarius? That was pretty heavily RMT camped before now every other time I go to the tree he's up and just sitting there. All you need is a thf or nin friend to solo it for you. A bst friend of mine saw it up and a random PT helped him kill it and let him have the drop, so I don't get how you can say removing the money drop would make the situation worse.

Not anymore, no, but how many linkshells do you honestly know that will go help one of their members at the drop of a hat, with no reward from themselves? Yes, they exist, and they're great shells, but not many people have them.

Removing the money = less people willing to help camp it = less people able to get the item = NM sits there while people that desire it can't get it.

Like I said, there's a TON of shit you could do to remove RMT, hardly any of it would actually improve FFXI.

I know many LS like this and it won't be at the drop of a hat. You get the TOD, put it in the lsmes, kill it, rinse, repeat. I know someone who got about 7 joyeuse for his LS like this. Strangely enough his LS always had 5+ people there to kill it when the window was open even though there was no money drop. I have camped TOD for joyeuse several times and when the window is open there are 2+ groups there trying for it. Funny how that is even though there is no money drop.

No one is currently willing to camp it because they can't compete with claim bots. If the NM is up you can be sure that people will be on there way to kill it even if there is no money.

Richie, I seriously SERIOUSLY hope to high Heaven you absolutely cherish that LS you're in, becuase you just described the 1 LS out of 1000 that's actually worth it out there. You're in a candyland of people that are actually helpful, and not asshats about things. But for the rest of us, we all know a few quality people, but it's just as Feba said, just about everyone is out for themselves, and if there's nothing in it for them, GL getting it. Your experiences are the exception, not the rule.

I'm amazed, I have 3 LS and they're all pretty much like this. If I could only get in an LS like the ones you guys describe I probably wouldn't even play this game.

Today (1st time I have camped it in a few weeks) there were about 20 people there. 3 of them were RMT. 1 held a knight crab while the other 2 logged in. A GM was called by another player for that. After the 2 logged in he killed it and as soon as King Arthro poped it was claimed by the nin that logged in. Were all 17 of the people there seriously that bad at claiming? All I was doing was spamming Stun while my friend spammed provoke (both staring directly at where he spawned). Do the RMT have awesome connections or something? Next time I'll try chain spell I guess...

Well, technically, they should be closer to the servers, but unless you disconnect you should see the monster at the same time as them. The sad fact is, claiming is what RMT are good at, it's all the *have* to be good at. I'm sure you'd be much better at claiming NMs too if you did it pretty much nonstop, and your paycheck depended on it.

Now yes, some RMT hack, but it's actually become rarer since SE started cracking down. Proving hacking is a helluva lot easier than proving RMT.

I don't think removing money drops will solve the problem, but about the LS thing, mine is very helpful and full of great people. We camped King Vinegarroon (full 18 man alliance) 10x for 1 person's Ace's Helm. I duo'd Aquarius for someone's axe just recently. We camped shikigami weapon for 2 ls members that just leveled SMN. I wouldn't stay in an LS that wasn't helpful and friendly.

....but King Arthro...no way in hell. He drops something *every* tank and melee would love to have and can be killed by 2-3 people with the correct jobs. There is no way in *hell* people wouldn't still camp this guy. Aquarius is still killed regularly, and he has a two hour respawn and drops a mildly useful axe that only three jobs use for a handful of lvls. Do people actually think a 24 hour pop crab that drops a HASTE item would just sit around for days on end?

Some NMs would rot if they didn't drop money items, but crappy LS or not, KA is not one of them.
