I'm only slightly joking. It's very possible with those jobs, but you'll definately have it harder.
I pretty heavily edited my previous posts in this thread, btw. Though they were edited within 15 minutes of initially writing them. So... hope that doesn't cause a bunch of confusion (especially the 2nd that went from 2 sentences to half a page). Originally Posted by Taskmage | Women = Time x Money

Oh and, well, when people level new jobs to 75 the biggest downer is "I have to do this all over again?!". I guess nothing short of an exp bonus really fixes that.
Well also, making leveling 1 to 75 easier, as in easier to get/make parties. That's a whole different question though. Read my blog. ffxibrp.livejournal.com Currently: Entry #32, August 31/07.

I think the ability to carry over merits to a non-75 job was intended to make leveling another job easier.
Ironically, what merits actually did was make it much harder to level most jobs: they can't find a party at <70 because everyone is busy meriting. And this hits the new players too (just as support for a new console was being added). Defeated: Maat, Divine Might, Fenrir, Kirin, Cactrot Rapido, Xolotl, Diabolos Prime, Kurrea, 9/10 Dynamis Bosses (missing Tav), Promathia, Proto-Ultima, Proto-Omega, 4 Jailers, Apocalypse Nigh

Well, what about making a new "advanced" subjob? With this one you only get the job traits of the job, up to it's current level.
So if you had a lvl 75 blm, you could be a rdm/whm, set blm as your advanced support job and have all the job traits of a lvl 75 blm. Fiddle with the cap somehow so that you can't be a lvl 1 rdm/whm with all the traits, if that would make it over powered. Perhaps you get all the traits of the support up to the job's current level and your own level.
If you have a lvl 45 main job and a lvl 75 job as your advanced support job, you only get the job traits up to lvl 45 from it.
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-17-2007, 02:52 PM | #65 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Read my blog Posts: 979 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 92x in 64 Posts Gil: 5,032 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 5,032 Donate | Re: Would you consider giving incentives to level support jobs past 37? I mean it doesn't seem too necessary. The benefit of having more than one 75 jobs is having more than one 75 jobs. It's the work that needs to be done for it that stop people from getting it. I mean, I don't think anyone would turn down an offer from SE to make any of their jobs 75 in an instant.
Not just work, but space. SE needs to add more space. This doesn't necessarily need to be based on the concept of leveling new jobs, everyone needs space for all the armor sets they are releasing. Mog Lockers are nice, but as more people hit 75 with more jobs and more sets for each job are released, more and more space will be needed.
One thing they could do is add more quests that give exp in an ENM fashion and increase the amount of exp given from PvP. More alternate methods = easier. Read my blog. ffxibrp.livejournal.com Currently: Entry #32, August 31/07.

That should be incentive enough for people who want to have multiple 75s. It's already not that hard to do. I see little reason to make it even easier. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
