A classic:

How many super sayins does it take to screw in a light bulb?

One but it takes four episodes to do so.

Transformers was not anime, as is alot of this other stuff you guys are mentioning. Transformers was actually 100% american based on toys from japan, but the show is all USofA baby!

Hmmm... I don't know about you guys, but way before i saw dbz in like 2000 on toonami I was breaking rules and staying up late on sat and sun to watch actual Anime on sci-fi network. My first anime was Akira, and god was it awesome. Like in 1997. Then Vampire hunter D, 8 man 8, Armitage, Final Fight, Street Fighter. Some good shit. Real Anime. Way before I saw toonami, even tho I still love DBZ and Cyborg 009.

Sci-fi used to show alot of stuff like that late night every weekend, you guys remember?

Sci-Fi still shows some anime, but not as much as they used to. Right now they're showing Gundam 00 Season 1, and I've seen a couple episodes of Macross on there as well.

Re: DRAGONBALL Z Returns to Japanese TV in April

Akira is what did it for me. Of course seeing one of the best anime's of all time as your first anime is the best way to do it, lol.

Aside from anime, I love me some beast wars, Season 1 digimon, and THUNDAR THUNDAR THUNDARCATS HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now I'd expect that from ShepardG so I got him a new pair of pants...TGM you're out of luck! I started to add "Before I die and after I watch all the Naruto episodes." to my statement, but I figured it'd have been overkill. I started to say Gundam Wing or G Gundam, but after I re-watched them both last year I can honestly say I didn't remember watching most of those episodes. So either Sailor Moon or DBZ were my first since I saw them both at around the same time.

Re: DRAGONBALL Z Returns to Japanese TV in April

TGM has got to be wearing adult diapers by now.

My first anime was probably Pokemon; it was just huge. But the one I'd say was my first in terms of actually going out of my way to watch it, buying the DVDs, and watching them for the sake of watching them and not because ohmygodpokemontoyswant was Gundam W.
