Some pluses for me would be:
1. A server where one nation isn't seriously dominating the others.
2. One with a newbie friendly linkshell (that one of you are perhaps a part of  ) And one that's tolerant of a sort-of idiot, I haven't played FFXI in 2 years.
3. One that may have some of you willing to help me out with Missions and such.. Other than that, I'd try to 'static' with someone I am acquainted with (outside of the game). do you know of anyone? Maybe, someone in your town - or at least, in your time zone &/or with the same time to play as you would have? Another suggestion, for instance, someone who you could identify with - if you (both) are police, military or share some special interest. The basic idea: you like to help someone you know.
By the way, sometimes I can't help but laugh a little - just seeing Taru bouncing as they run. :D
