I was once a silver haired Taru on Cerberus, wandering around doing various adventuring things, but due to financial constraints, lack of time and well... life, I was forced to send my Taru back to Windhurst and wave goodbye to Vana'diel for good.
Or so I thought.....
You see, there's been something bugging me for the past few months. It's like a splinter in my mind. Playing FFXII did'nt help this and soon the answer became clear.
Long story short, I'm coming back to FFXI. But when the time comes to return all my original characters will have been deleted, which is actually quite exiting as I get to start again anew. Having kept tabs on Vana'diel affairs I've noticed you can now pick your own server at character creation, so I'm here to ask a question which I've noted has become quite common on these forums:
Can anyone recommend a good server? 
Obviously an LS will be a thing to focus on once I'm settled back into things, but this time around I think I'll be sticking around a lot longer. I never did get to 75... or see Aht Urghan... so I think I'll have to remedy that on my return. Thanks for your time!

Deactivated content IDs are rarely deleted, even characters erased with "Delete Character" occasionally linger for a little while- though you'd have to call POL for that.
a server is entirely up to you, they're a lot of the same. I'd try to find someone you know who plays and join that server. Bahamut is the server btw. It isn't a bad server - economy is about the same as anywhere.
