I was once a silver haired Taru on Cerberus, wandering around doing various adventuring things, but due to financial constraints, lack of time and well... life, I was forced to send my Taru back to Windhurst and wave goodbye to Vana'diel for good.
Or so I thought.....
You see, there's been something bugging me for the past few months. It's like a splinter in my mind. Playing FFXII did'nt help this and soon the answer became clear.
Long story short, I'm coming back to FFXI. But when the time comes to return all my original characters will have been deleted, which is actually quite exiting as I get to start again anew. Having kept tabs on Vana'diel affairs I've noticed you can now pick your own server at character creation, so I'm here to ask a question which I've noted has become quite common on these forums:
Can anyone recommend a good server?
Obviously an LS will be a thing to focus on once I'm settled back into things, but this time around I think I'll be sticking around a lot longer. I never did get to 75... or see Aht Urghan... so I think I'll have to remedy that on my return. Thanks for your time! Deactivated content IDs are rarely deleted, even characters erased with "Delete Character" occasionally linger for a little while- though you'd have to call POL for that.
a server is entirely up to you, they're a lot of the same. I'd try to find someone you know who plays and join that server. Personally, if I were to start over, i'd go to whatever server Murphie is on, he's a great guy, not to mention he's online even more than I am so he can help you whenever >_> | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Feba for above post: | | | 03-23-2007, 02:55 AM | #3 (permalink) | | Fence Sitter Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: UK Posts: 1,342 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 53 Thanked 91x in 68 Posts Gil: 5,276 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 5,276 Donate | Re: A common tale of late Actually, Murphie isn't on that much. I often log on, and he isn't online yet, and he will log before me.
Bahamut is the server btw. It isn't a bad server - economy is about the same as anywhere. As in, the dude's got free time. Even if he's on FFXIonline and not FFXI Online :p
I mean, I have free time too, but I don't have a 75RDM, plus I don't play nice with elvaan. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Feba for above post: | | | 03-23-2007, 11:16 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Loaded With Sodium Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 7,964 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 448 Thanked 1,591x in 1,001 Posts Gil: 6,108 Bank: 37,376 Total Gil: 43,484 Donate | Re: A common tale of late I'm online all the time because I work online. ><; But yeah, I don't mind helping/answering questions/whatever. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Murphie for above post: | | | 03-25-2007, 12:41 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 8 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 4 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 898 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 898 Donate | Re: A common tale of late Thanks guys. If I were you, I'd see if my old dudes had just been puttering around the house while you were gone. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-25-2007, 04:30 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Tiddly Wank Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Oct 2004 Posts: 7,191 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1,764 Thanked 1,669x in 1,164 Posts Gil: 21,381 Bank: 1,376,754 Total Gil: 1,398,135 Donate | Re: A common tale of late Yeah, oddly enough, when I got feba back, he was in the middle of aht urhgan. Makes me wonder what the hell he was doing that whole time.
Right now i'm imagining a tarutaru passed out at the fountain drooling... and of course, everyone just walks by and ignores him >_> | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-25-2007, 09:36 AM | #10 (permalink) | | Pink Mage Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Bastok/Illinois Posts: 1,579 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 154 Thanked 183x in 121 Posts Gil: 23,012 Bank: 99,625 Total Gil: 122,637 Donate | Re: A common tale of late Or.... He was commissioned by STFU for some undercover Gilseller sting operations. If I was STFU that's what I'd do.
