Downer - Valefor stole my name!

Just found out, on ffxiah.com, that someone has the name Carlo on valefor. That sucks, since I've always named my characters carlo since I hate 'regretting' choosing certain character names. That and I can enver settle on a fake name, so I go with carlo.
Actually, usually Carlo 210, but ffxi doesnt allow you to use numbers for a good reason.
Anyways, I have a guy on my friends list that is on valefor and he says I should joiin him. He's the only person on my fl that plays this game. Also, knowing someone, even if just through a couple of weeks of GRAW online, is heavily desired by me for starting out ffxi around next week.
Should I ditch this guy, persay, and join another server? He's a nice guy and all. The thing is, I don't want to have to make up an 'alias' or anything - I've always hated having one because I can never settle on one.

Humor aside, your name will usually be taken if you want a certain server and you will have to desicde on something else. You have two options:

1) Chose a diffrent name. You could even go as "Therealcarlo" or as Feba did, "Truecarlo".

2) You don't have to go to Valefor, and you could always tell your friend that you could stick together on GRAW online. I don't really understand what you mean by aliases, so I can't comment on them.

I sold GRAW after a week because I thought it sucked.
Too brainless - not the strategy shooter I thought is was gonna be (having played socom 2 for a chunky bit way back when).
What I mean by an alias is 'what you go by online'. For example, you may be onionsoilder (nice spelling ) over the net, or something related to onions and soldiers.
For example, Neo was 'Mister Anderson's' alias. (ah, good old matrix1)

Anyways, I know I don't have to go to Valefor, but he's the only background-support I'm gonna have with this game from the start. Un....unless you are implying something. :O

Valefor seems like a good server. Overall, as I reflect, Carlo may be too tad 'vanilla'. I mean... Carlo. It's like Ted, or Mike, or Christopher, or Jason, or Stephan.
It'd be ncie to add something to 'carlo' anyways, so sorta give myself a meaningful feeling (instead of being 'Carlo, the Dragoon!'.
