All the more reason why that extra fraction of a second matters. Pings are around 0.5 seconds which probably eats up most of the casting time of Gospel of the Lost. If you have a faster/slower connection that would be significantly impacting, but it's a factor you can't generally effect. You
can effect your Fast Cast.
I suppose if you wanted to, you could do what Fry did on Futurama and drink 100 cups of coffee and transcend the limits of space-time before you fought him, but I don't think that would be good for your circulatory system or stomach...
