The core gameplay, especially in regards to White Mage, has stayed the same.

You'll want to get Wings of the Goddess and unlock Scholar when you can as it makes a great subjob for White Mage. There are also some teleport spells that take you to various spots in the past as well. A sleep spell, 'Repose', was added to the white magic list as well.
