but most of the PTs I was in ended up having someone PL anyways, which kind of made my WHM redundant and made me not enjoy playing it. Seems that no-one wants to just exp anymore for the sake of new people learning their job because most of them already have a job at a high level and just want to lvl ASAP. Particularly the "lolDunes" or "It doesn't matter, it's the Dunes" mentality. Well, it matters to me because this is my first time playing through the game and I'm trying to learn how to play a job 'properly'. I would imagine that The Dunes and Qufim should be when I get to grips with the basics of a job and build from there?

I've never seen a SC or MB due to people just using their WS as soon as they get 100% TP and even if the party didn't have a PL to start with, it soon ends up having one because someone in the PT is impatient and wants more exp, NOW!!

What if I told you that I find it inconsiderate that all these experienced players don't want to take the time to play the lower levels as they should, for the sake of newblets? How am I supposed to learn to be "self-sufficient" as WHM if a PT generally consists of me standing in the Dunes or Qufim while some lvl75 dishes out cure III after cure III? What if I told you that I thought they were "doing a tremendous disservice to people" who were new to the game?

You're welcome to try it but don't be too surprised if you feel the need to give up. If you do, walk away, eat some food, take some rest/do something else, then try to come back to it. I do appreciate that it'll more than likely be a struggle and I may have to suck it up and PT to 40 like BBQ suggests, but I'd sooner try and fail than not try at all. I just don't feel like I was getting enough out of early PTing to make it the 'must have' experience it's being made out to be.

I don't get home yet for another month so this is all just leg work to be prepared for when I do, but I'll definitely let you know how I get on. I'll even give BBQ the "I told you so" moment if the opportunity arises

Thanks to all for taking the time to comment.

It's too orangey for crows, it's just for me and my dog...
