Nice Stephen Colbert impression there, Feba. The playerbase doesn't "decide what sucks". The playerbase discovers what works well and what doesn't work as well and then demands only the best. The reality is there in the code. We don't make that, SE does. So for crying out loud, asking what SE's attempting to accomplish is a good question.

If you refuse to consider the theory part of theory vs. practice relevant, just ignore the answer if they ask the question. I'm quite certain that I'm not alone in feeling that it is relevant, considering that I wasn't the one who asked the question in the first place. If you continue to argue the point, I'll only have to conclude that you're only doing so for the perverse pleasure of pissing people off.
