Re: Confusion Over The QUest For Savage Gear. Please Help!
For one thing for the gobbie tailor quest to get your RSE there are 3 zones dependant on what day of the week it is and whos races turn it is. Check the vanadiel Navi on the front page of the forum which tells you when your slot is.

Use the maps here http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/ for locations of chests to help you plan your routes, I would advise taking a warp scroll each time to quickly exit especially if you have had to go deep into each dungeon (and also if some one shuts the wrong door in Gusgen mines making you need to take a long detour to get out again)

Most of the mobs in these area are from 17-34. so will all agro.

Ordella caves their are goblins which agro to sight so you would probably need some Prism powder.

Research the mobs in the area to identify which you need to use to not get agro. remember one chest at a time, then you have to go back trade the patten then restart the quest. There are 4 items you need.

I am unsure at how good being able to pick locks (if at all) when thf is a sub as I would suggest blm as a main thf sub just for the warp ability. So if anyone knows please add.

I have soloed 2 of my pieces with my lvl 34 pld when i was doing it (hands and feet for the extra MP without diminishing my DEF and VIT.)

Another Idea is you could alays farm the key with whm/blm you shouldn't have too much problems especially in Gusgen as its mainly undead so cures/regen etc will work a treat on the mobs you need to get keys from. BLM sub for a few nukes will help as well. Yeah picking locks with thf sounds less hassel, but with teh risk of agro and the constantly needing to keep silent oils and prism poders up (not forgetting the cost as well) the extra time to farm the key is probably a better idea, hell get a LS member to assist, thats what linkshells are for, a community to help each other.

Oh and yes Chests spawn randomly so at times you have to circumnavigate the whole map to find the sodding things (yeah thats speaking from experience)

edit:-

Your 36 WHm yes? well sub BLM job = 18 which is when warp comes in....
