I was somewhere between level 30 and 40. I wasn't in any danger, though down time was terrible. With the signet boost to defense and evasion, it should be more efficient now.
But that said, I was not impressed with the drop rate of silk thread / beastman blood. And that was with a sub of level 15 THF (so I had TH). I definitely wouldn't recommend farming as /BST. Not only do lose TH by not subbing THF, but none of the native pets will be able to tank for you. So the only thing you gain by subbing BST is being able to use a pet for a little extra damage. If you could equip a jug and use Call Beast, farming as /BST might be a different story (which beside not being able to use jugs, you wouldn't be able to do so until level 46 anyway).  Lyonheart
