COR/THF does little to no good to party, being poor isn't an excuse that can get you out of trouble for playing poorly, you are dealing with strangers over the internet, no one gonna babysit your way to 75 -at least I won't-, how would you feel when your WHM turn up naked with only Cure, because for the same reason, he doesn't want to spend money? You gonna say, "ah, he can stay, he is poor, but he needs level, I am gonna have the party work on getting good exp with only 5 members."? And then your tank turned up naked with a BST sub because he is freaked out about taking damage, and to proof his determination he wears nothing?
Sarcasm aside, if you can't afford the job, don't play it, no one is here to babysit you over the internet, if you expect others to play their best in your party, you should do the same.
Norg fame is easy as hell to get, took my friend 1 month or so to get utsusemi quest, and she doesn't even play much, nor has she done the purple belt.
I am not gonna go over how little COR/THF will offer for the COR and the party, as everyone has mentioned it over and over already. COR/NIN on the other hand, apart from paying for 1 more weapon, isn't as expensive as you think it is; Japanese even suggested using dual sword(with melee stat) to be a sword COR, though I have never seen it in action...
