| Re: Breeding a Hybrid Chocobo. I have no idea what they do except that they are both related to how the chocobo moves rather than to how it digs. Therefore, a riding chocobo with both might be nice depending. My theory is:
1. Gallop relates to strength and speed (e.g faster running: better speed to strength ratio)
2. Canter relates to endurance and riding time (e.g. more efficient running: better duration to endurance ratio)
3. Burrow relates to discernment (e.g. it allows the chocobo to pick out items that normal chocobos overlook--it provides an increased selection of digging items or more generally increases the "quality" of the dig)
4. Bore relates to receptivity (e.g. it allows the chocobo to "detect" buried items deeper beneath the surface to increase digging yield--"quantity")
5. Auto-regen is the odd-ball and relates to the chocobo's stables stamina bar and is utterly useless except during care phase.
Your chocobo cannot have more than two abilities, so if it inherits one it's stuck that way. This is why my plan calls for the division of the line into two lines--digging line and riding line. Obviously, the precursor "color only" cards can be used to make virgin chocobos. For the riding line, inheritance of ability is best because you won't have to raise mental attributes to make the chocobo learn Gallop/Canter. Inheritance on the digging line is merely a convenience since you have to learn one of the two stories (depending on your choice of stable) on a Long Walk.
