Re: Video Card and Screen Problems thread.
Thank you, I googled "Hardware TnL" and came up with a forum posting, this is what the person said in reguards to "Help to Hardware TnL" said:

"That means that you don't have a good enough graphics card or chip, depending on whether you use a pc or laptop. What you probably have is a GME card/chip, which supports standard 3D graphics. However, FFXI requires that you have an AGP card/chip. But the problem is that you can't always just switch; a whole new motherboard might be required if your current one isn't compatible with AGP cards/chips. I personally have a laptop, which is inconvenient, since i need a better motherboard to support such chips. My type of motherboard is PCI, which doesn't support that great of chips. However, I heard from my friend that there was one chip which was compatible with PCI motherboards and FFXI. Hope this was of help. " - Steven DaLuna

And the first thread to this problem was created in Feb of 2003. So.. apparently alot of people have this problem. go figure. lol j/k. So how do I find out if my motherboard is compatible with a new graphics card?
