If they MB at the end of the window and you WS early in the window it can prevent the MB from taking effect. Its happened to me a couple times. You can WS and still have the MB go off if you just push the WS to the end of the window, the MB should have gone off at the point and you can still continue the SC with another WS. I've had both happen to me, just have to be good with timing and having intelligent people in your party helps too.
