Isn't it kind of unfair to expect the average person to spend time researching a video game on the internet? It doesn't say anywhere in the game manual or on the box: memorize Alla/KI forum posts before playing. To most people, it's just a game, and don't spend the majority of their days debating formulas on the damage for various weapons and such, and the "perfect" stat ratios/effects. Kicking newbies out of parties because they use a sword as WAR, without bothering explaining how the combat skill system works, and just saying "Get an axe, nub!" leads to the mentalities like "ZOMG, DRK w/ GAxe lvld R n00b!" and whatever.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that just because someone has a job at Lv75 doesn't mean they're an expert and good at the game. Any retard can reach Lv75. FFXI is a very mindless game. Monkey presses macro; repeat. You can reach Lv75 without ever doing a skillchain. There's always a party willing to pick up somebody, regardless of gear/knowledge/etc. All reaching Lv75 shows is that you've played a lot, and/or you're very persistant. Ignorance really showed with that "Lv75" DRK thinking the OP should use a scythe when obviously GAxe was more effective in that situation, as explained. It's very important for everyone to know "why" something is effective/common, rather than just mindlessly excepting what they're told by higher level players who don't want to "waste their time with noobs" or whatever.
