Mining gear does absolutely nothing BUT increase your chance of obtaining rare ore. Take it from me, I have been doing this for the last 2 years, I have patterned the whole thing out. I was always under the impression that it decreased chances of pickaxes breaking, and did
NOT increase ore results.
