Ok, I haven't played very many MMO's, but I got alot of friends that have played them for a while and they all say the same thing: the game would be great if it werent for the selfish jerks that make the gaming experience lackluster.

So when I jumped into FF XI, I was a little worried that I'd be playing along with alot of immature 9 year old brats.

I was pleased to find that that was not the case at ALL. In fact, when I started, there were players that were MORE then willing to help me out with how to play the game and what certain terms were. Instead of hearing people "go away you newb!", I heard "it's ok. we were all newbs at one point. here's some <whatever> to help you with your quest"

So I want to take a moment to point out how great the FFXI community is. You guys share gil and armor and spare weapons and crystals and most importantly, information.

It's been made the game easier to get into, but more importantly, more fun to play.

So that said, I'd like to go through and have everyone post something someone has done nice FOR THEM.

I'll start:
- A higher level mage escorted me to Windhurst just to buy some spells. Also paid for my boat ride since I only had like 35 gil.
