| I personally find it a lot easier and better if you choose a lower-class job (WAR, MNK, WHM, BLM, RDM) and just keep on working on it until level 74, because then you won't have to start all over at level 1 and have a much harder time leveling a new character after being used to another one for so long.
I have, of course, experienced this, when I switched from WAR/WHM to DRK/WHM. I know where to go and all, but I just felt this feeling of just recently starting up a new game of FFXI. I went to the same areas, fought the same creatures, and built up my character. But if I could do it all over again, I'd probably still be a WAR/WHM, because I wasted most of my beta time leveling my character and not interacting with the other worlds. I was stuck in Bastok for most of my character's career. Sure, a lot of people wanted me in their parties, but I probably could have still been successful with a level 70 WAR/WHM.
Anyway, that's one of the reasons I like MNK so much, is that it keeps getting interesting down the line. DRK basically only added some melee damage onto my sword and a few weapon skills - big deal. I was already building up scythe and great sword good with a WAR, so it was no big deal. I hope to work up to a lvl 75/37 MNK/WAR in a matter of months, because I did it before. This time I hope I can have a better experience then before. |
