What should I be targeting while soloing?

Hey guys,

Just hit 38 on my dancer, and I've soloed most of the way. Recently though, fights have been abysmally long and I'm averaging very low exp per hour (a few thousand). Should I be targeting EM-T or try to kill EP. Even EP it takes like a minute for me to kill them even though I'm using box step. Am I doing something wrong? Or is DNC just very slow to solo.

What would be some good spots for me to try in the late thirties early fourties?

It depends on what it is you're trying to target. IIRC you can use FoV to determine what you should be figting.

It's always been my understanding that the "suggested level range" of a FoV page is usually equal to a challenging solo experience for a well geared DNC. For exacmple... if a FoV page suggests that you're level 22-24... and your DNC is 23. You should be able to solo the mobs on that page. I usually aimed at doing pages that had a suggested level range around 5 or 6 levels below what I was. Around level 30, that meant Crabs in Qufim Island. In your mid 30's, you may want to try mandies outside Kahzam. That should be around your range right now.

If you're not able to EXP chain you want to fight EPs.

I'm not a DNC but that's a good general rule for any job that solos stuff by whacking it. The benefits from lower enemy levels are three-fold - you kill it faster, the mob hurts you less, and it receives extra accuracy/attack penalties just for being lower level in Signet areas.

How much exp per hour should I be expecting? Fighting EP mandies outside of kazham is taking a long long time haha.

Expp/hour solo on dnc should average 5-6k

Mainly NIN... but THF works too. Also... MNK is really effective as a SJ for DNC at lower levels... but NIN is best for solo work.

Pick up some cheap food if you don’t already. I think I went with Kabobs or something. It really does help a lot.

From 35 to 49 you can do FoV pages in Eastern Altep. It's a bit of a hike from the OP but a short distance from the telepoint. Start off with page 1 doing spiders, then move on to page 2 and 3 as your level climbs.
