  • Tutorial: How to get rid of messed up ingame Textures

    Hallihallo (^.^)/

    Have you ever met the problem that a texture looks great in the modelviewer but is messed up ingame?

    Example of messed up texture:


    Example after you repaired it:


    If thats the case then my little tutorial will help you to get rid of that messed up texture.
    Well, the days of messed up ingame textures are counted.

        Sorry to post in an old thread, I have a question about the hex editor that Nomido used in his guide.
        When I open the dat I'm trying to work on in the hex program, it looks like this:

        and I don't know how to make it look like this:

        I'm talking about the 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 0A 0B 0C 0D 0E 0F 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1A 1B 1C 1D 1E 1F along the top.
        Maybe I'm using a different version, I don't know. I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how to make it look like the one in his guide. Or why mine looks different.

          Open the program go to Settings->then to program settings-> now choose HEX editor in the list on the left->now you see the settings on the right side.

          The settings i used are:
          Hexadecimal offset
          Number of columns: 32
          Bytes per column: 1

          PS.: This is just for the looks and you shold test what looks most useful for yourself.

                That's really overcomplicating things... if you have VRS, you don't need to go anywhere near a hex editor, just make sure that both images (the yellow boxes) are on the model, make sure the names and internal pointer of the texture (purple boxes) are accurate.

                  I try this when i get home. So you just have to put a second image
                  to the model and VRS will calculate the size right even if the image is
                  lager then the initial image?
